Multishops

The multishops are a group of bishops who come from a variety of Christian denominations. They are united by their shared belief in the essential oneness of the church and by their common commitment to the work of Christian unity. The multishops meet annually to pray, worship, and discuss ways to promote Christian unity.

The multbishop's first meeting was held in 1966. At that meeting, the multishops adopted a statement of purpose, which reads, in part: "We recognize that our unity as Christians is not simply an ideal but an essential reality, and that our divisions are a scandal to the world and a source of weakness to the church. We are determined therefore to work together for the restoration of visible unity among all Christians.".

The multbishop's meetings are open to all Christians who share their commitment to Christian unity. The multishops come from a variety of denominations, including the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church, the Anglican Church, the Lutheran Church, and the United Methodist Church.

The multbishop's meetings provide an opportunity for Christians from different denominations to come together and pray for Christian unity. They also provide a forum for discussing ways to promote Christian unity. In addition, the multbishop's meetings provide an opportunity for Christians to worship together and to learn from one another.

The multbishop's meetings are a sign of hope for the Christian Church. They provide a glimpse of the unity that Christ intended for His Church.
